Problem Description

When trying to start the IM Logging Service a prompt box comes up as Picture 1 shows.

Problem Solutions

Open the Event Viewer on the machine that has the IM Logging Service installed to see what type of error occurs during the initializing event.


Possible problems


  • Error
    The settings was change after an update.

    Solution
    Run Integration Manager Configuration and save settings.

  • Error
    Service cannot be started. System.Configuration.ConfigurationException: Could not connect and retrieve data from IMConfig database, check connectionString and permissions. ---> System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Cannot open database "IMConfig" requested by the login. The login failed.

    Solution
    - Verify that the server address and database name in the config match where your IMConfig database is stored.
    - Check permissions in SQL for the user used to run IM Logging Service.
